Azam Haq is Executive Director, Private Credit & Debt Markets at GFH Bank (formerly GFH Financial Group) in Manama, where he founded and leads the bank's Shari'a-compliant private credit franchise — named Middle East's Best Investment Manager, Private Credit, at the Euromoney Awards 2026.

He launched the GFH Private Credit Fund at USD 170 million in 2024, upsized it to USD 300 million within a year, and has deployed over USD 400 million of direct financings across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain — alongside USD 1.5 billion of Infracorp Sukuk issuance and restructuring mandates.

His earlier career spans two decades of front-line investment banking across ECM, M&A and DCM — more than 100 mandates and USD 40 billion of closed transactions, including the USD 29.4 billion Saudi Aramco IPO as part of GIB Capital's domestic joint bookrunning team, and the USD 6 billion IPO of National Commercial Bank (now Saudi National Bank). He has twice built revenue-generating platforms from inception with full P&L ownership.

He holds an MBA in Finance from the Lahore University of Management Sciences and a BBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. He sits on the Audit Committee of HANCO, previously served on the Investment and Credit Committees of Arbah Capital's funds, and is currently researching digital-asset regulation and real-world-asset tokenisation within Islamic finance.
